Cuttack teams declared U-19 joint champions

Cuttack-A and Cuttack-B today emerged joint-champions of the Under-19 Inter-District Tournament as Odisha Cricket Association decided not to conduct the final match between the two sides. ``Since both the finalists belong to the same district, there is no point conducting the final. The tournament committee, hence, decided to declare the two teams as joint winners,`` explained OCA secretary Asirbad Behera.
In the four-day semifinals, defending champions Cuttack-A trounced Puri by an innings and 328 runs, while last year’s runners-up Cuttack-B thrashed Bhubaneswar-A by 232 runs here at different ground.
Earlier Koraput, Puri, Bhubaneswar-A, Phulbani, KIIT, Bhadrak, Rourkela and Bargarh qualified to play super league matches along with last year`s semifinalists Cuttack-A, Cuttack-B, Bhubaneswar-B and Jharsuguda.
